Scottish Water awards £33m+ filtration plant contract

Scottish Water has awarded a filtration plant equipment contract for the supply and installation of media worth an estimated £33 million.

The contract covers the supply of media including sand, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and installation where required for refurbishment works only, and supply and installation where required of Amazon Cartridge Filters.

Four companies were in the bidding for the contract, which will run for 12 years and is worth an estimated£33.13 million in total.

Filtec Water Services has taken the lion’s share of the work with a contract worth £30 million. Barr + Wray and  Western Carbons Ltd were the other successful bidders.
